Ms. Lawton • 2010-11 World Geography
Here is my contact information: Ms. Lawton, Room 204 Email: CLawton@natickps.org Phone: 508.647.6670 x1282 After School Help:
I am available after school on Tuesday and Thursday for questions and help. I will also be available on most Wednesday afternoons. Students are strongly encouraged to make use of this time. It is not punishment, get your work done!
Rules: Please see Ms. Lawton’s classroom expectations and rules for further information. Each student will keep a copy in their binder. Honesty Policy:
I want to establish a trusting and honest relationship with all of my students. I trust that all students in my class will turn in all assignments, tests, homework, etc. produced by their own efforts, work that is neither plagiarized nor copied from another student or any other source. It is important that every student takes pride in his/her work, and does the best that he/she can. Effort and honestly are the two most important parts of any assignment. If any student breaks this trust, he/she will receive a 0 and/or other possible reductions on the assignment per the behavior rubric. I have no tolerance for plagiarism and cheating, which are considered major violations of school policy and can result in suspension.
Homework:
It is expected that all homework will be turned in on the due date. Every assignment must be completed up to Team Accountability expectations. All homework assignments and most relevant handouts will be contained on my homework page. For most graded homework assignments, you will receive a score that reflects the effort you put into the assignment. You are expected to make up all missed assignments. Please speak to me in advance if you anticipate any problems completing the homework for the expected due date.
Textbook: Each student will be loaned the textbook, World Explorer: People, Places, and Culture, for the year to be kept at home. It is his/her responsibility to keep the book covered at all times and in good condition. It will be collected at the end of the school year. If you lose or damage your textbook, you will be held financially responsible. 2010-11 World Geography Units of Study Unit 2: Africa Unit 3: Southwest Asia & the Middle East Unit 4: Central and South Asia Unit 5: East and Southeast Asia Unit 6: South America Unit 7: Wilson World's Fair Unit 8: Australia & Oceania
