November 29-  iPass is currently being updated to finalize grades for Term 1.
There is no homework this week.

November 18-  I was more than thrilled with the outcome to our Fractions and Decimals unit Project. So impressed with the effort and creativity that I can't help but share with the entire school.  Students projects will be posted around the school and used as resources for the whole Kennedy Community. Good Job Cougars!

iPass is currently being updated. Please be patient.

Upcoming Quizzes and Tests:
Scantron- Online assessment used as a benchmark and taken again in the spring to monitor growth.
(information will be sent home once testing is complete)

In class:   Quiz  Nov. 2  Bits I   Students have taken a check in and planned out areas of study for the quiz.
Project on Fractions and Decimals Due November 4

Unit Test:  November 10  This will include all materials in their current Blue Bits I Math book.

Retakes are completed and iPass should be updated at the end of the week.

Project specs were handed out today.  Due Date November 4th.
Estimated Test date for the Bits I unit is the second week in November.  This should allow adequate time for students to come stay for extra help.

iPass should be updated.
If there are any problems, please let me know as soon as you can.
Not all Retakes on quizzes and tests have not been updated- students may be working through the retake process.  Ask them how it's going. :)
They must correct their mistakes and put into words what they did wrong. After that is completed they take another assessment.  Retake grades do not exceed 75.

I try my best to put emphasis on Knowing the information fully despite having to take the assessment twice. If you know it- you can use it forever.  The grade does not define who they are or who they can become.

I'm happy to report  that all projects have been handed in and graded.  Thus far 1 quiz, 1 homework, and 1 project grade has been collected.  Parents: Expect your childs' grade to be updated on ipass next week.

Order of Operations Test:  Sept. 28

Upcoming Assessments and Projects:
Students are currently working on an Orders of Operations Project.
They are responsible for 3 small projects due Sept. 23rd.
They choose from the Tic Tac Toe Menu provided. Work will be conducted in and out of school.

Order of Operations Quiz Tuesday Sept. 10

With the power on and the floors still gleaming we successfully finished our second week of school.
Students were eased into the daily routine and in Math geared their brains for a very good year. At the beginning of the week students were asked to bring in a plain white T-Shirt to decorate. T-Shirts in Math?!
Why?

These shirts are their Test Day T-shirts.
These "KMS Mathlete" Jerseys are their game day shirts.  For weeks they will practice their skills working their way to the big day. Much like one would do when playing a sport, instrument, or performing in a play, when the big day comes - you put on your best.

Welcome back and welcome to Team America.
We are very much looking forward to another great year here at Kennedy.
This site is a great way to keep on top of your child's assignments and upcoming projects at the beginning of the year, however, as the year progresses more emphasis will be placed on their responsibility of keeping track using the assignment notebook.
Students are expected to write the assignments in their assignment notebook for every class.  The website should not be used as a substitute for acknowledging the homework in class.
Beware:  The calendar will show When the assignment is DUE, not when it is assigned.
