Physical Education/Wellness Welcome to Ms. Smith's website Wellness is reaching your best social, emotional, intellectual, and physical level of health. In keeping with our goals of developing life long learners and aligning with the Massachusetts Physical Education Frameworks our portion of the Wellness Program focuses on the importance of the total health picture. Along with the Health curriculum, the students in Physical Education will learn the importance that good physical, mental, social, and emotional health play in their leading healthy, happy and productive lives. These disciplines will encourage the students to make good choices and to take positive steps to improve their current health, prevent future health problems and recognize and accept responsibility for their own health. Postural Screenings beginning 1/17/12 Mile Make-ups for grades 5-8 Tuesday 11/8/11 Wednesday 11/9/11 Thursday 11/10/11 (cancelled due to rain) Students should meet up on the Wilson fields at 2:15 sharp. If you are late, you will need to stay another day. All students need to have 3 mile times for their cardiovascular assessment for the fall. Additional Mile Make-ups for grades 5-8 Tuesday 11/15/11 Wednesday 11/16/11 Thursday 11/17/11 DANCE TEAM - Please check out the dance team practice schedule. Our first practice is Thursday September 22nd from 2:05-3:00 in the gym. CHEER FITNESS is a new after school program that will begin Monday September 19th from 2:05-3:00 in the gym. This is an informational meeting for all students who enjoy cheering, stunting, tumbling and dancing. Please come and check out this new group!!! Our first practice will begin on Monday September 26th from 2:05-3:00 in the gym.
