Homework will be given Monday-Thursday of each week. Students will not have homework on weekends or over holidays with the exception of a few long term projects. Students should spend about 45 min a night on homework. Homework, like classwork, should demonstrate each student's best work. It is your child’s responsibility to pass in their assignments on time, unless something unexpected happens, or an emergency occurs. If this is the case, please write me a note explaining the situation and your child can make up the missed homework the following night.

Any homework missed must be turned in on the next school day with a homework slip signed by a parent or guardian. In third grade, we continue to work on students taking responsibility for their work. Although it is ultimately the students' responsibility to complete and turn in assignments, I encourage you to be an active participant in the process by checking and initialing their homework log.

Each night students will be expected to:
     Read for 20 min
Complete a Reading Log (Twice a week)
Practice Math Facts for 5 min

**In addition to other daily assignments that support our current curriculum**

The purpose of the homework is for students to practice concepts and skills that have already been taught. It should be a reinforcement activity, NOT a challenge.  If your child puts in effort to complete the homework and is really struggling, attach a note to the assignment and I will work with your child on it in school.
