Class work, homework, and formative assessments are not calculated into the term grade.

Homework will receive a "1" if it was done and passed in on time, ".5" if it was passed in late, and "0" if it was not done at all

Formative assessments and classwork are intended as a way for students to get practice and receive feedback on skills needed for summative assessments.  Assignments will be graded on a scale of 1(does not meet the standard), 2 (progressing towards the standard), 3 (meets the standard), or 4 (exceeds the standard). Parents should monitor progress and completion, but these grades will NOT be calculated into the term average.  These assignments are essential in providing information that helps me make decisions about lessons, differentiation, and further practice.

Summative assessments will have various point scales and will be calculated into the term average.  See the chart above for overall grade percentages and examples of assessments for each curriculum strand.

Make up work / Retakes will be determined on an assignment by assignment and student by student basis.  When make up work/ retakes are offered, there will be a required review session and one specific date for the retake.

Late work will generally receive a 5% reduction in points.  If there are extenuating/ medical circumstances that cause the late work, Mrs. Dabrush will work with students and families to determine an appropriate due date and no points will be taken from the assignment.

Missing assignments will be identified by a grade of 40 in IPASS.  When the assignment is completed the new grade will replace the 40.
