Natick's Sassamon Trace Golf Course is situated in the heart of many unique and healthy New England habitats, including vernal pools, wetlands, forest and meadows. The Sassamon works hard to preserve and protect these wild places while allowing golfers to enjoy its beauty. The purpose of the Audubon Society is to protect wildlife, conserve and restore ecosystems, and educate the public. An “Audubon Certified” golf course is a course that upholds the same principles. Certified courses are required to monitor and protect surface and subsurface water, must use organic fertilizers, protect habitats and educate the community. Natick High School has teamed up with the Sassamon Trace Golf Course to make it a certified Audubon course. In exchange, our students will benefit by utilizing the course property as a hands-on outdoor lab. In order to achieve Audubon certification a number of things need to be done. You can view the student webpages in the toolbar on the left.
