Welcome to Ms. Pittman's Room! Syllables! Whether reading or writing, students are paying attention to how syllables sound, how those sounds look in print, and how to spell them correctly. As with so many other things in life, even big words make sense when they are broken down into manageable parts. At home, when students read aloud to you or help you write family notes (even shopping lists), you can help them when they get stuck by asking them to split the word into syllables.
